More Alaskan Adventures!

There were no ships in on Friday, which meant John got a 3-day weekend! Marisha and her roommate babysat for us while we rented a tandem bike for a few hours. We were lucky that the rain stopped and we had a delightful time! Thanks Marish!

John taking a spin by himself.

My view. (I just thought it was a cool picture)

Friday night Lexi had her first sleepover with her friend Ella. I think they're playing tag in this picture.

And then today we went on the dogsled tour. We've been wanting to do it all summer and finally made it work. Unfortunately, we didn't see John's cousin who works out there. We did have a great time though. These dogs are the real deal - this is how they train in the summer for their winter races. We rode in golf-cart things and enjoyed the ride. Kaytlin was giggling the whole time and yelling, "E-i! [Lexi] E-i! Doggies!" and watching their every move.

Then we got to hold the puppies in camp. This one is 5 weeks old. Lexi and John got to hold two of them and pet them. I even held one for a while, then it licked me and I was done. :o)Kaytlin freaked out and didn't want to touch them, but loved to watch them play. There were also some puppies born an hour before we got there that we got took look at.

Oh, and these are some random mushrooms near camp that are cool-looking but super poisonous. A girl licked one last year and had to be air-vac'ed to the hospital. They're called Alice in Wonderland mushrooms. Yay for 3-day weekends!

I didn't know that you rented the bike! That would be fun! And also the dog tour? 1-hour old puppies?

And FOR REAL---did a girl really lick the mushroom and get aired out...or were they just bluffing?! ;-)

Thanks for having Ella over for a sleepover. She LOOOOVED it!

looks like SOMEONE'S going to end up getting a dog someday! LOL. It's so funny how none of us kids growing up liked dogs, but all of the grandkids are OBSESSED! LOL. i love how kaytlin kept pointing at the dogs to show lexi, i love that. and you look SO PRETTY! the picture of you guys on the bike thing is awesome that you got both of you in it, and that picture and the one of you holding kaytlin w/ the cheesy smile... you look gorgeous. happy, bright, pretty, and i can tell that you've lost weight. your face is thin and pretty and i love your clear complexion~!!!! ok, i'll stop going on! what kind of face wash do you use? do you still use mary kay? and do you wash your face at night? i don't i should though. (i've been getting a lot of blackheads lately.. even on my cheeks)! anyway, i love you. this was long! :) thanks for sharing. the mushroom alice in wonderland was awesome, i wanna go! tc and ashley are excited to come see you and i'm going to be missing you so much! (as always)!

What a wonderful weekend Kristin. I know I probably write this all of the time, but never in my life have I wanted to visit Alaska more than I do right now. Every picture looks like a fairytale. What a fun life you are living with your beautiful little family.
