Play Time

Lately the gitls' favorite place to play is the bathtub. Usually they take their play food in there and have picnics. It's pretty fun to hear them giggling and thinking they're so funny.

Kaytlin has spent a lot of time playing with her school bus. She loads it up like a car from a 3rd world country - people and animals bulging from every side. She takes them to Ward Lake, or Disney Land or sometimes Hawaii. In this picture she's unloaded everyone from the bus and is giving each toy their own car to drive. (When she takes them to Ward Lake she brings along a potty from the doll house - that way they don't have to use the stinky potty at Ward Lake!)

And, of course, another decked out box. This one was a rocket ship, a bathroom (?), and a bear cave.

Obey your thirst...

So I spent the day in the hospital today. The short version - was up all night with excruciating "stomach cramps" went to check it out and I was extremely dehydrated. Dehydration caused contractions (oh so fun) and so John was with me spoon feeding me applesauce and other food as I laid in the hospital bed, my hands bandaged from the failed IV tries. The liquids made the contractions slow and mostly stop. The whole time I just wanted to sleep, but with forcing myself to eat and drink, and then all the contraptions, I had to wait to get home to really rest. It was great John was able to be with me the whole time, even blowing my nose when my hands were wrapped up (that's love right there isn't it?).

Feeling much better now, just wishing the 8 more weeks speed by...

Oh, and a huge thank you to my in laws for watching the girls today. It's such a relief having them here to help and support us.

And I should mention the blessing that John gave me before we left helped ease the pain too.

Lesson learned? Drink water!

Horsing around

So it's been a while since I last blogged. I taught the RS lesson Sunday (today) and last week we had our Safeguard Seminar at the church (a night teaching how to put blocks on cell phones, computers, and anything else you can imagine) that I was in charge of and have been planning for months. But now that those are done I have a much quieter month and thought I'd catch up here.

Thankfully, the girls still get along great! Lexi has said several morning before school that she'd rather stay at home and play with her sister because she misses her at school. She still goes and loves school though.

I've started watching a 3 year old 3 days a week for some extra money. She and Kaytlin get along great and it really isn't that much more work for me. Win-win-win.

One bit of bad news, and reason that you have not seen me in many pictures. I weighed in at my last doctor's appointment (last month or so) as my 9 month weight with Kaytlin. Apparently I overdid the baking at Christmas time or something and at like 28 weeks was at my most-ever heaviest weight. With 12 weeks to go. Ugh! Anyway, other than that pie, :) I've been more careful.

This may just look like a box to you, but to Lexi, this was her project for days! For Christmas she got an art kit and has used that thing like crazy. She had everyone help decorate paper that she glued onto her box. Every side of it covered with something. She was so proud of it that we hung on to it for like a month and then had to take pictures before we got rid of it.

Who wouldn't want to kiss this sweet (messy) face?My sister-in-law Jenny is here (off track from BYUI) and spent the afternoon learning to be domestic. We made this pie from scratch and it was so good! I wish I could let you all have a bite somehow.
Well, that's all I'm making time for. Life is good, we're mostly healthy (getting over some colds, but, who isn't right?), and getting excited for baby girl to come!

Art Work

About a month ago we reorganized our family room with the hopes of turning it more into a play room that would actually get used (and keep the mess and toys out of public sight). We switched which wall the couch was on, added the toys from Christmas and bought a bulletin board for artwork. Tada! Who knew a $15 bulletin board would be such a hit? By the way, it's in the background of the picture. It's been so nice for the girls to display their art and then replace it themselves - meaning they can only have so much displayed at once and I don't have to feel guilty being the one to decide when to throw stuff out and risk them seeing it in the garbage - oops! When they do something new they get to decide what to throw out and if it's extra special, we take a picture of it first.
