Little helper

Kaytlin helped me in my little photo shoot of Addison and wanted me to take some pictures of her baby too.

All about Addie

We have just been falling more in love with our little Addie girl. We were a little worried at first because she was pretty fussy for a few weeks (2 weeks old to 4 weeks old) but seems to have outgrown that. She's content almost all the time now and has become really smiley. We love it! She's like Lexi in that she doesn't always like to be held. I've learned if I can't get her to calm down I just have to set her down and then she'll be totally calm. She loves to get her diaper changed too. Again, she'll be crying and I'll lay her down to change her diaper (that's barely wet) and she transforms like there was nothing wrong. The cold wipe doesn't bother her either. Strange huh? So far she loves tummy time like Kaytlin did. I keep analyzing her and comparing her to which sister she's most like, but she keeps proving to me that she's got her own personality unique only to her.
As for the binky situation - she sort of likes the ugly orange one (she post below), but I'm the only one that can get her to chew on it (she will not suck on it).
One way she's surprised us is how good of a sleeper she is. She's almost sleeping through the night. Usually she'll wake up around 3 or 4am and then sleep until after I get Lexi on the bus. A few times she's slept all the way until 6:30 and 7am.
One funny thing - a few nights ago John went to pick her and bring her to me and she was laying there with just a diaper on! She had kicked and wiggled so much in her sleep that her blankets were completely off and the neck of her pajamas was covering one of her ankles! The next night she made it halfway - her blankets and pajamas were wiggled down to just below her belly button. Crazy kid! Guess we'll have to start putting her in something else at night (although the nightgowns are so nice for changing diapers at night, it'll be hard to switch).
Life is good!

Binky battles

Guess who doesn't take a pacifier? Uh huh. I have tried all of these and there's only one that sort of works. She still won't suck on it but she'll at least gnaw a little and that distracts her temporarily. I'm not giving up though. Any suggestions?
Here's the four I've given a try. Can you guess which one she tolerates?
Oh, and this picture is just to prove that I do my hair occasionally. Even if it's in a ponytail most days, I do wear it down sometimes. Lexi tells me she wants to be a mom when she grows up so she can have her hair in a ponytail....

On my own

This week my mom went home and John left for a week to get the Skagway store up and running. Time to see what three kids is really like. :)
It was so great to have my mom here. She was amazing, I can't even tell you how many loads of dishes and laundry she did while she was here! She got dinner on the table, helped in the night with Addie (although now she's doing really good at night), changed diapers, went grocery shopping, let me nap, kept the older girls entertained, and was just really helpful and fun
company. It's crazy to think I won't see her again until December, but I just feel lucky that she was able to come at all and stay for so long. She's a wonderful woman and I hope someday I can be like her.
She taught my girls how to play "Button, button, who's got the button?" their new favorite game.
