What we're up to

This is a picture Lexi drew a week or so ago. This is the first time you can actually tell what she's drawing. A friend of hers had a girls-only Valentine's party last week. Lexi is posing for the picture (she thinks she's hilarious!) At the party they all got hair bows and a Valentine's shirt. I've been testing Lexi to see if she still needs a nap. The first day I left her throwing a tantrum in the kitchen to change Kaytlin's messy diaper. When I got back she was dead asleep on the kitchen floor! So I'm thinking she still needs a nap and I'm down with that.

Kaytlin had a good week. Her 5th tooth came in, and she learned how to say "Uh-oh" (her first word) and "Hi," and sign "food" and "hat." I'm hoping that Lexi will want to sign more now that her sister is starting to pick it up.

I finished typing up one of my Grandma's journals. Five years ago I borrowed her journals from my aunts so I could type them up. I had two done and then the computer crashed. As of yesterday I now have one journal typed. It was a fun thing to do since I don't have any memories of her and I've always felt drawn to her for some reason. I've got more work to do still, but maybe someday it will all come together so the other relatives can get to know her too. She was an amazing woman.

John continues to work hard on the remodel. He leaves when the girls and I get up and comes home right around their bedtime. Tonight it's a later night, 11pm and he's still working. Thank goodness we have a dance class tomorrow night. Having a date night really is a must!

We went on a walk in the historic red district with our new stroller (thanks for the recommendation Marissa!) And below is a random picture of the view from Safeway's parking lot (yeah, it's better than our view).

The Remodel

I've assigned myself the job business historian (or something like that). This is where the gallery and Del Sol will be by the end of April. Here's what John and his dad have done so far.

It's on a corner so each store will have it's own entrance and the wall is open on both ends so you can walk between the two stores. It's been fun to come every once and a while and see the progress they've made. They added eight windows and the wall frame just this week. The place is massive so maybe I'll post some of the other parts of the store another time.

Tag of 25 things

1. I love clocks and watches. I used to have a clock in every room and even had a special watch I would wear while I slept.
2. I am always late.
3. All of a sudden I seem to have the habit of rolling my eyes. (I blame Lexi)
4. I like vegetables
5. I can’t walk in heels
6. I love to sit back and watch my husband play with our kids
7. I’ve gone skydiving – twice and proud of it
8. One batch of laundry takes more than a day. One day to wash it, another to sit in the dryer, and then it will get folded the next time I have to do a batch.
9. If I happen to go to the store before breakfast I always buy donuts.
10. I dust random things around the house with used laundry sheets.
11. I don’t like pop.
12. When I was a little girl my sister told me I was adopted and I believed her for a long time.
13. I don’t have a cell phone, and I don’t miss having one.
14. I feel like I’ve gone the extra mile when I make my bed.
15. One of my favorite things is putting on a brand new pair of socks.
16. On my list of qualities I wanted in a husband was that he would write in all caps. (He does)
17. I wish I knew how to sew but I don’t care enough to really learn how either.
18. I get really grumpy if I haven’t eaten for a while.
19. I like country music
20. I love to vacuum
21. I get anxious when I have to make a phone call. Most of the time I have to practice what I’m going to say ahead of time, and then I pace the whole time I’m talking.
22. Someday I will read the Old Testament
23. One of my favorite things is to crazy-dance around the house with my family
24. I sleep in every day as long as I possibly can
25. I love buying things online and then getting them in the mail.
