A happy week so far

Two bits of good news:
1. Lexi's cast is off! She got it off today and it looks good. The doctor didn't give her any limits. Seriously - none. Good thing I'm around to watch out. He's older and must have forgotten what children are like...
We are going swimming sometime soon to celebrate!
2. Kaytlin is potty trained! Last week she helped pick out (Sleeping Beauty) underwear and thanked me over and over again in the store. She was so excited to "match Lexi and Savanna," (her cousin who started wearing underwear).
I spent all day Saturday being her shadow and encouraging her and spent some work Sunday and Monday and she's good to go now. On Saturday she held it for hours because she hated how it felt to have an accident. She thought it was an accident on the toilet too. It wasn't until Sunday that she didn't freak out any time she went on the toilet. She hasn't had an accident since Monday morning and has done great. She is no longer banned from upstairs and couches. :) Lexi was very supportive and helpful through it all. I'm guessing it's because every time Kaytlin got a treat she did too. :) Yay for popsicles! If only I could find underwear that fit Kaytlin. The smallest size here is 2T and it's all baggy on her. Yet I refuse to buy it online and pay shipping. Baggy underwear it is.
Pictures another day.

Father's Day Picnic

We had the most relaxing time Sunday eating lunch outside. On the way home from church Lexi said, "This is a great day! This is a great day for a picnic outside!"
She was right, it was warm (65 degrees) and sunny so we had our picnic.
Life's been kinda crazy for us. John's busier now that the cruise season is full swing, I just got a new calling (RS counselor), we've had doctor's and hospital visits for Lexi, and with all of John's family here for the summer we've spent a lot of time out at his parents' house.
It was so nice to just chill as a family, enjoy nature and each other.
Since Sunday it's been raining, and it probably will keep raining for another week. I'm so glad we took advantage of a nice day and spent it well. All you having a real summer - enjoy the sun for us!
"A day without sunshine is like a day in Ketchikan!"

Cariloha!

This is Cariloha, our new store that opened in the beginning of May.
Everything in the store is made of Bamboo. It is stronger and softer than cotton, antibacterial, stays cooler than cotton and is extremely green. We sell handbags (with bamboo liners), sheets, towels, shirts, picture frames, jewelry, and more.
You can see how the shirts are made here:

For John's birthday we got a pair of sheets and they are heaven! Wish you all could check this place out, it is seriously the softest stuff!

Saturday Project

Before
After

We thought this would be an easy little project. Haha. We started to take down the oven hood and Surprise! there was not an outlet. The cord just disappeared into the wall behind another cupboard.... So a little more involved than we were expecting. John's dad came over and helped John get the wires together and had a box thing that made an outlet and got everything just right. I love the new microwave and the extra counter-space it's created! Now I'm thinking we'll have to save up for one of those flat-topped ovens.

Picture shoot of Kaytlin

I took these at my parent's house last month. I love this little ham!
