Call for recipes?

My house is 85 degrees. I'm not really used to hot summers. We don't have AC (why would you in Alaska?) and I'm stuck at home with a napping child. Any dinner ideas that wouldn't heat up our house anymore? Oh yeah, and with the thought that the grocery store is sold out of most produce and half of it's frozen food (it's Monday). Help!

We do grilled cheese with tomato and basil inside them on hot days. Or cereal! :) Breakfast for dinner is always a good idea. If you have cans, we do taco soup too--brown hamburger with taco seasoning and add cans of stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, corn, and whatever kind of beans you prefer (I use kidney). Serve over corn chips and with sour cream and cheese. Or of course there's Easy Mac or anything in the microwave. Hope that helps. Sorry it's a little late! :)

salads salads salads

Cook up pasta, potatoes, etc at night
or early morning before the heat starts.

Make a variety of salads, and you can have a salad buffet for a couple of days!!!! MMMmmmm! Sounds good!

We like to do wraps. Put some lunch meat or leftover chicken in a tortilla with some cheese, lettuce, etc and dressing. Good luck with the hot house...that is no fun!
